1. What should I expect from my NexEar Hearing Aid?

  • Hearing in quiet environments should improve.
  • Hearing in moderate background noise should also improve, though will not be as good as hearing in quiet.
  • Soft speech will be audible.
  • Average speech will be comfortable.
  • Loud speech will be loud, but not uncomfortable.
  • Your own voice should sound “acceptable” to you.
  • You will be able to hear the TV at a lower volume.
  • There should be no whistling (feedback) when your hearing aid is properly positioned in your ear.
  • See Troubleshooting for further information.
  • When there is hearing loss in both ears, binaural hearing systems (two hearing aids) will help in hearing sounds more loudly and clearly.

2. Why is the cost of a NexEar Hearing Aid so much less than other brands?

  • NexEar was designed from conception as a high-quality product at an affordable price.
  • Consumer research identified a significant demand for a high quality, low cost hearing aid.
  • NexEar uses the same or equivalent premium components as other brands that retail for more than four times as much.

3. What do I do when my Hearing Aid is not working?

  • My hearing aid produces no sound:
    • Verify that the hearing aid is turned on.
    • With a battery checker, if available, check to see if the battery is low or dead.
    • Check to see if the Tip is clogged with dirt and/or wax; if so; consult the care and maintenance section of your owner's manual.
    • Be sure the battery is inserted properly.

  • My hearing aid is whistling: Whistling (or feedback) occurs when the hearing aid is being inserted or removed or when your hand is cupped near the device is common. If you experience feedback when you speak, chew, or yawn, you can do one or more of the following:
    • Lower the volume control.
    • Reinsert and reposition the hearing aid.
    • Try a different size of Fitting Tip.

  • The volume is not loud enough:
    • The hearing aid may not be positioned correctly; consult the owner’s manual to ensure that the hearing aid is positioned correctly.
    • Check to see if the Tip is clogged with dirt and/or wax; if so; consult the care and maintenance section of your owner's manual.

  • My hearing aid is still not working:
    • If you are still experiencing difficulty, please, call NexEar and request Customer Support, or

5. How long will hearing aid batteries last?

  • Turn the aid off to save on battery life
